He is a Bihar maverick and has been working on various non-profit project for upliftment of Bihar. He is also the Co-Founder and trustee of BEN ( Bihar Entrepreneur Network). Patna Marathon is a dream of Santosh which is now becoming a reality with collective social effort of an excellent team.

Atul Kumar,  Jersey City, NJ, USA  is a Co-Founder of three non-profits, Bihar Society, IIM Society & BEN (Bihar Entrepreneur Network). He is also a founding SVP, Operations of a start-up NFP Focus that aims at bringing process,technology and management discipline to Non-profits. Start-up is still raising funds and has not been able to launch in market. He is also an advisor/CxO to an incubation/private equity fund, Moolex, which has an ambitious goal of greener, happier healthier earth. In previous roles, Atul has been a Director, Globalization at Accretive Health, a leading healthcare revenue cycle management company with around $1.5b in market cap. More>>

Dr. Prof Prabhat Ranjan, Chief Mentor Patna Marathon 2012

Prof. Prabhat Ranjan is Professor at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute for Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar (DA-IICT) since 2002. He was educated in Netarhat School(near Ranchi), IIT Kharagpur and Delhi University. He received his Ph D from University of California, Berkeley where he carried our research on “Nuclear Fusion” at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory during 1983-86. He immediately returned to India after this and carried out research in Nuclear Fusion area at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Calcutta and Institute for Plasma Research(IPR), Gandhinagar. He played a major role in India’s Nuclear Fusion program and was Project Leader of the largest operational Indian Fusion Reactor, ADITYA, at Institute for Plasma Research from 1996-2002.

His current interests include applications of Wireless Sensor Network to Wildlife, Planetary Exploration (Chandrayaan mission), Nuclear Fusion, Healthcare, Agriculture etc. He has received National Science Talent Search Award, IBM Faculty Innovation Grant and HP Innovate 2009 award.
He is very keen on participating in the growth of Bihar and wishes soon to return to Bihar to use innovation as a means of growth.

Mr. Ravi Kumar, born in Samastipur, is Serial Entrepreneur and Founder of Modlingua Group a leading translation company with global reach. He is Founder President of Indian Translators Association, LINGUAINDIA, HISPANICINDIA, HRLINGUA and BEN (Bihar Entrepreneur Network). With his M.A and M.Phil in Spanish and Latin American Studies, for last 10 years, Mr. Kumar has been Visiting Professor for Spanish and Latin American Studies at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, ranked amongst Top 10 Business Schools in India.

Mr. Kumar has supervised more than 300 research papers at MBA level on various themes related to Spain and Latin American Countries. Mr. Kumar has been regularly organizing International Conferences, the most recent one was, “Role of Translation in Nation Building” organized in close cooperation with Instituto Cervantes –Spanish Cultural Center in New Delhi, December, 2010. Mr. Kumar has written a series of articles on Language, Translation and Culture. He also authored a book of international repute “Peru – Your Business Destination” in collaboration with Embassy of Peru in India.

He was elected in Shanghai in 2008 as Council Member of International Federation of Translators connecting more than 110 associations of the world coming from 72 countries. Mr. Kumar is also India representative for International Medical Interpreters Association, USA and he has been given special recognition by BhashaIndia (Indic language division of Microsoft India) for contribution and promotion of localization and translation activities in India. In addition, Mr. Kumar regularly writes for series of National as well as International journals and Magazines including Diplomatists, Academic Press, American Journal of Translators, ICCR, ITI, London, Management Kompass and Inttranews. Pursuing bachelor’s in architecture in PMSA-Cuttack and according to him being born in Patna is a blessing and aspires to create the patliputra we read in our history textbooks. Also intrested in landscape and urban photography and an integral part of Bhubneshwar Camera Society – “Cliquers”. Looking for the historic ties Bihar and Odisha has had shared in the history.Working with an NGO “WE-4-YOU” , recipient of the “Most Promising Sociopreneur of Odisha -2011″ trophy by UNDP , CYSD and Bhubneshwar Administration.

Nupur Nishith, General Manager- Creativity Patna Marathon 2012

Nupur Nishith is a freelance Marketing Communication manager having an innate skill for creating, appraising and communicating through art and design.
Pursuing her interest in the folk art of her homeland, she is a self-taught artist of Mithila or Madhubani Paintings. Having won several awards and accolades for her style of art, she has held exhibitions at various locations in Patna and New Delhi. With a passion to spread the reach of the art-form, she has conducted several workshops on Mithila Paintings and has been working on a book on ‘How to Learn Mithila Paintings’. She is one of the pioneers of Digital Mithila Paintings and intends to use the medium for reaching a wide base of illustrators and designers.
Nupur has handled branding, creatives, sponsorships, and media communication during her stint with Bank of Baroda, a leading public sector bank in India. She is also a life time member of Association for Promotion of Creative Learning (APCL), a Patna based NGO to promote creativity and creative learning in Society. She has been actively associated with organizational, marketing and designing activities of numerous conferences, seminars and publications of APCL.
Although she now currently lives at New Jersey, US, her interest in supporting the positivism and the cultural renaissance of Bihar brought her to Patna Marathon. She feels that the Marathon will help Patna and Bihar get to the Global Map of art, culture and development.


Firoz Ansari, Marketing & Sponsorship Development Patna Marathon 2012

Firoz is an aspiring social entrepreneur and a world traveler. He has done his masters in Medical Microbiology in 2003 from Baroda Medical College. He worked as trainee at Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad. Currently, he is working as Senior Business Analyst for Health Information Systems at Allscripts Healthcare Solutions. He keeps traveling around the world for giving demonstration of health systems to Physicians, Nurses, Laboratory Tech, Blood bankers, Hospital Management. He is a specialist of Genetic Testing System and likes to explore the newer method of genetic applications that will revolutionize healthcare in future. He loves challenging the conventional rules and methods and is ardent fan of social networking for education and health.

He plays Badminton, Table Tennis and cultivates running as his habit. His passion is dancing and writing news articles about anything that can be useful to the society. A banker by profession, Manvendra has been residing in Pune for last 14 years, till the thought of working for his own state prevailed over everything else. He persuaded the authorities and got transferred to Patna to live his dream.
A proud father of a 3 month old son has a very busy schedule at office but he squeezes the maximum available time out of it and works for the success of Patna Marathon. “Apart from working for my bank in Bihar, Patna Marathon is the best thing that can reconnect me to my society. Though event date is about 2 months away, it has already changed my life by way of work schedule filled with energy and enthusiasm. Now I get to see the rising sun everyday” he says.
